Company description:: PRESS RELEASE
F1 Race Factory, Phoenix, AZ
January 09, 2004
For immediate release.
The F1 Race Factory, the nation’s largest Indoor Kart Racing and Entertainment facility announces the “2.4 Hours of Phoenix – Endurance Race”. Scheduled for Saturday January 31 2004, the race will feature 20 teams who will complete over 100 miles of high speed kart racing – all indoors! This signature event celebrates the world famous 24 Hours of Daytona, which takes place on the same date. Also on the 31st of January, F1 Race Factory launches the Sport Compact Only “Show and Shine” weekly events held at F1. These events cater to the import and sports car enthusiasts who can now continually show and display their cars at a location that compliments their sport.
The 2.4 Hour teams are a very diverse group – young and not-so-young racers, corporate teams and teams with only one driver. The Maricopa County Sheriffs Office is also fielding a team. Called “Team The Heat”, county sheriffs will, for a change, be chased as well as chase! As part of the Race-A-Cop program that reaches out to the younger crowd, Deputy Rich Bricklin and his posse of kart racers will definitely have a lot to prove. A vintage patrol car as well as contemporary law enforcement ‘hardware’ will be on display at F1 Race Factory.
The race allows for teams of up to four drivers who will have to include well versed strategy if they are to win. Fuel stops and driver changes form an integral part of the plan to win, but as in any long distance race, much can happen, and usually does, to make the outcome extremely unpredictable.
Indoor Kart Racing is extremely popular in Europe and is becoming a recognized and well attended sport in the United States. The F1 Race Factory is proud to be the ‘flagship’ facility. With over 110,000 square feet of space, 2 quarter-mile tracks, Restaurant, Video Arcade, Billiards room, Rock Climbing wall and over 5000 square feet of corporate meeting place, the city of Phoenix can also add the F1 Race Factory to its list of ‘best in the country’.
The 2.4 Hours of Phoenix is open to all media and fans. For further information, details and media credentials please contact Victor Felice, Director of Marketing at 602-302-7223 x 232 or marketing@f1racefactory.com.
